Four of Virtuoso's leading travel agencies participated as guests of the West Hollywood Convention and Visitors Bureau on a family tour showcasing the area's luxury destinations.
Paola Zeballos, Australian Trade Representative for the West Hollywood Tourism Board, and Denise Zuzin, West Hollywood's Senior Director of Business Development, have curated the two-day experience, which will run from August 7-9, featuring luxury activities, dining and accommodation.
Hosting agents included Melanie Evans of Evans & Turner Travel Associates, Becky Kent-Perchalla of Perchalla & Turner Travel Associates, and Leonie Spencer and Christine McKerrell of MTA Travel. Their stay at the Pendry West Hollywood gave them a luxurious base from which to explore the city.
During their stay, the group explored three iconic areas – Sunset Strip, Santa Monica Boulevard and the Design District – and enjoyed dining at top restaurants such as 1 Hotel West Hollywood, Melois by Wolfgang Puck, The London West Hollywood and The West Hollywood EDITION. The group also dined at Ladyhawke at the Kimpton La Peer Hotel, one of the newer restaurants on the West Hollywood culinary scene.
The group also explored the boutique shops and showrooms of the Sunset Strip and Design District, as well as enjoying iconic wellness activities such as Face Gym.
Becky Kent-Parchalla of Parchalla & Turner was enthusiastic about the experience of exploring West Hollywood.
“I love that West Hopper is a standalone city within a city. It's compact, walkable and has its own separate neighborhoods,” she said.
“The Design Quarter is great for lifestyle shopping, a rooftop gym and you can enjoy a classic Aussie coffee at the super cute Aussie-owned cafe SOL. With WeHo's music hub being everywhere, WeHo has a vibe that makes you want to return again and again.”
“With a fantastic choice of luxury hotels, there really is something for everyone. From historic Art Deco hotels to rooftop pools and lobbies filled with vinyl records and street art, the hardest decision will be deciding where to stay.”
Other Australian travel agents who were visiting West Hollywood at the time joined the group for an amazing luxury travel experience in the city, including Donna Phillips of Donna Phillips Travel (Frontier Travel), Sonia Jones of Sonia Jones Travel (Frontier Travel) and Gabrielle Thackray of Wentworth Travel.
Jones was especially impressed on her first visit.
“This is my first time in West Hollywood and I'm in love with it! Luxury hotels, amazing food, tons of rooftops! It's also a really walkable area, I felt very safe and there's so much to see and do,” she said.
