1. The fallout from the recent Trump-Musk meeting at X continues. The United Auto Workers union filed a federal labor lawsuit yesterday against former President Trump and Elon Musk, accusing them of trying to “intimidate” workers who said they supported firing striking workers, which is illegal under the National Labor Relations Act. “The actions of these two clowns are egregious, illegal, and completely expected,” United Auto Workers president Shawn Fain said in a statement.
2. The police raid on the Marion County Record made headlines around the world along with news that former Marion Police Chief Gideon Cody had been indicted on felony obstruction charges. Cody is accused of convincing potential witnesses to conceal information during an investigation into his overall conduct. The newspaper's publisher's 98-year-old mother and co-owner, Joan, was also present during the raid and was seen visibly shaken on police body camera footage. She died the next day of a heart attack that her son believes was caused by pain.
3. The Dallas Cowboys haven't won a Super Bowl since 1996, when Dak Prescott was just two years old. But that doesn't matter when you consider the value of the team, because they are the first professional sports franchise in the world to be worth more than $10 billion ($10.32 billion to be exact).
4. We all know vegetables are good for you, but not when they're laced with biker drugs. DEA agents found methamphetamine in a truck full of celery at a farm stand outside Atlanta. That's a ton of methamphetamine! More than 2,300 pounds of methamphetamine was buried in the pile of celery before it was delivered to the Atlanta State Farm Stand. Authorities were “on the trail” of the culprits for weeks before they were able to arrest them.
5. Officer Michael Cruz, who joined the NYPD last year, was involved in a crash that left someone injured and left the scene without reporting the accident. He has been suspended without pay pending further investigation, which is good for him and allows us to binge watch an entire season of “Cops,” where we all learned that fleeing the scene of a crime really does make you look guilty!
