Matthew Dominic, aboard the International Space Station (ISS), often wows his followers with amazing photos taken from space. His latest post certainly fits into that category: a beautiful shot of the Earth from space. What's interesting is the “single lightning strike” that can be seen in the photo.

“The green lights of Southeast Asian fishing boats, city lights, the rising sun and a streak of lightning that looks like a nebula on the left side of the frame. I set my camera on an intervalometer to capture the lightning. I found this at the end of a sequence of about 1000 photos,” the astronaut wrote when posting the photo.
He added a close-up photo in a follow-up post on the same X thread: “The way the lightning is lighting up the clouds looks like a nebula to me (left side of large image above),” he wrote.
