It remains unclear what the future holds for five-star shooting guard Isaiah Harwell, but the recent buzz has been centered around one team in the Big 12 Conference.
In June, Howell announced a list of cuts that included Texas, Gonzaga, California and Houston. On Sunday, Houston Cougars.
Despite the Utah native having a 33.6% chance of landing Harwell, the top four teams remaining, On3's Jamie Shaw boosted that number with his prediction on Sunday: After projecting Houston's chances of landing Harwell at 60%, the Cougars now have an 86.5% lead over other teams.
Harwell, a Wasatch Academy graduate in the class of 2025, is rated as a five-star prospect and the No. 7 player in the nation by the 247Sports Index. He is also the top-ranked player at his position and the No. 2 player in the state of Utah.
“Houston,” Harwell told 247Sports' Da'Shawn London. “Coach Sampson talks to me a lot. QC (Quanas White) grew up in Idaho, so he reaches out to me a lot. It's a good program.”
Houston still has to beat some good teams to land a player like Isaiah Harwell, but the Cougars are in control and looking to make a big splash with the 2025 class.
