Yinka Magnaye detailed how she changed her lifestyle for overall health.
The voice actress and content creator shared a photo of herself on Instagram at age 22, when she was “eating processed foods, skipping meals, drinking alcohol four times a week, and smoking a pack of cigarettes a day.”
According to Inka, she has always had a petite figure, giving the impression that she didn't need to exercise.
“This was also 2011, when health and wellness information wasn't as readily available as it is now,” she said of the photo, from when she was 22 years old.
“This was a time when we still believed that being thin was healthy!” she added, revealing that she never did any exercise or prioritised her sleep patterns.
“A few months later, I was rushed to hospital for emergency surgery after one of the cysts on my ovary burst,” she says. “It was the worst pain I've ever felt in my life.”
Her carousel post included a photo of Inka, who is now 35. Inka has now quit smoking and vaping for three years, she said, and only drinks alcohol occasionally.
“I don't overdo it – I exercise regularly, eat mindfully, get enough rest and go to therapy!” she added.
“It took years to change my lifestyle, but it can be done,” she said.
In the caption, Yinka said she thought her PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome) may already be in remission.
“It's a very difficult lifestyle change, but it's so worth it,” she said.
Yinka ended her post by congratulating herself for having the courage to make the change in her lifestyle.
“Well done Inka! Thank you for making that decision. I know it was hard but you were the stronger one,” she said.
