FTI Consulting helped the news division of a major US broadcast network revamp their traditional “program-driven” newsgathering processes, designing and implementing modern “story-driven” workflows and systems.
OUR IMPACT FTI Consulting delivered a customized new collaboration paradigm and technology platform concept, informed by workshops with over 50 stakeholders. The client received a technology investment roadmap to improve their current systems and prepare for a digital-first future. The technology architecture developed by FTI Consulting supported the client's new delivery model for internal content sharing and engagement with digital users.
Our Role
FTI Consulting interviewed over 50 stakeholders across leadership, editorial, production, newsroom and technology to understand current technology pain points and gaps in the field and at the corporate base. Our experts developed a capability maturity model and design principles based on news operational workflows across pre-production, production and post-production. The team created a strategic blueprint for an orchestration platform called “SuperDesk” based on our workshops and ongoing corporate initiatives. FTI Consulting developed a technology roadmap with five key technology initiatives, including business intelligence and content sharing, and recommended a set of investment initiatives with capital cost estimates.
