Daily habits and diet are key factors in losing weight. Exercise is good for your overall health and helps you lose weight, but ultimately, your weight is mainly determined by what you eat. Encouraging better eating habits and cutting down on calories will help you achieve your ideal weight. But if you are still struggling to lose weight, nutritionist Anjali Mukherjee has shared some tips that can help you achieve your goal. In a video posted on Instagram, Anjali shared her tips on how to lose weight. She said, “This video is for everyone who is struggling to lose weight but can't. Ages range from 25 to 65-70 years. First, the most important thing is to eat when you are hungry. That means not eating when you are not hungry. If you find yourself eating food between meals, stop doing that.”
She added: “Second, always eat three-quarters of your capacity – your body needs that much space to digest food well. Third, completely eliminate sweets, desserts, alcohol, flour and ultra-processed foods. If you really want to lose weight, leave a gap of at least four to five hours between two meals. Don't eat too frequently – it won't work. Finally, spend at least an hour every day walking, dancing, swimming, yoga or weight training.”
Additional tips to help you reach your ideal weight
1. Get enough sleep
Lack of sleep can disrupt hormone levels that control appetite and hunger, increasing cravings and causing overeating. Getting enough sleep can promote overall health and aid in weight loss.
2. Reduce your intake of sweets and processed foods
Processed foods and added sugars are often full of wasted calories and lacking nutrients, which can lead to health problems and weight gain. Choosing nutritious whole foods can promote overall health and weight loss.
3. Increase your exercise
Frequent exercise not only burns calories, it also boosts your metabolism, elevates your mood, and improves your overall health. For best results, try a combination of cardio, strength, and flexibility training.
