GREENBRIR COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) — Health care benefits for Greenbrier employees will continue at least until the end of the month, the union announced Friday.
According to the Greenbrier Council of Labor Unions (GCLU), “The Consolidated National Health Fund will continue to provide health care benefits to GCLU-represented employees through Aug. 31.”
Employee health insurance has become an issue after it was announced that a luxury resort near White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia, will be auctioned on Aug. 27 due to unpaid debts.
Gov. Jim Justice, owner of The Greenbrier, said he and the Justice family have taken the necessary steps to stop the auction.

“We continue to demand that Greenbriar's past due contractual obligations be met and remain hopeful that an agreement can be reached between ANHF and Greenbriar to continue benefits into the future,” the GCLU said in a statement.
