Bluestone Investment Partners has announced a strategic investment in Qualis Corporation, a missile defense and space technology company.
“Bluestone highly values Qualis' track record and history of innovation, and we are honored to have the opportunity to partner with the talented Qualis team and support their continued technology development efforts,” John Allen, managing partner at Bluestone Investment Partners, said in a press release Thursday.
Bluestone is a private equity firm focused on mid-market companies in the defense and government technology sectors. Qualis' expertise is in the modeling and simulation of radio frequency waveforms that enable the development of resilient communications and navigation in GPS-denied and contested environments.
At its headquarters in Huntsville, Alabama, Qualis operates laboratories with hardware-in-the-loop, high-performance computing environments for advanced modeling and simulation. Customers include the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command, the U.S. Air Force Test Center, the U.S. Space Force, the Space Development Agency, the Missile Defense Agency and NASA.
Bluestone completed its investment in Qualys through its recently formed small business investment company. In June, the Small Business Administration granted Bluestone its first SBIC Critical Technology Initiative license.
According to Rod Duke, president and CEO of Qualys, Bluestone's newly acquired SBICCT license will accelerate the development of next-generation capabilities for the nation's defense and help Qualys continue to serve its customers.
