(BLACKWOOD, NJ) – This week, Camden County Health and Human Services and health care partners will provide free vaccinations in Clementon and Camden for uninsured children and those with Medicaid Part A only. The clinic is part of a first-of-its-kind effort to prepare Camden County children and families for the upcoming school year.
“Back-to-school season is upon us, and if you haven't already, please take advantage of these clinics to get your child up to date on vaccinations,” said Secretary Virginia Betteridge, liaison with the Department of Health and Human Services. “It's essential that children are up to date on these vaccinations so they're ready to learn in the classroom on their first day of school.”
During the vaccination drive, children can receive a variety of necessary vaccinations and also speak with a representative from the Osborn Family Health Center to get help applying for insurance for their family. For children who are behind on vaccinations, the health department can schedule appointments for families to get all their vaccines up to date at Health First Care and Wellness Centers.
At these clinics, children can receive the following necessary vaccinations:
Ages 4-6 can get DTap, polio and MMR vaccines, ages 11 and 12 can get Tdap and meningococcal vaccines, and ages 16 can get meningococcal vaccine.
Vaccination locations for the week of Aug. 26 are as follows:
Aug. 27 at Clementon Elementary School (4 Audubon Ave., Clementon) from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Aug. 29 at Wiggins Center – Health First Care & Wellness Center (400 Mt. Vernon Street, Camden) from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
