BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — The Kern County Public Health Department will launch its “Know Your Numbers” program on Tuesday, Aug. 27, at the Prado Senior Center in east Bakersfield.
The mobile program provides six weeks of nutritional coaching from a public health dietitian and two health screenings to measure participants’ BMI, blood pressure, blood sugar and cholesterol levels before and after fitness classes with our health and fitness instructors.
Public Health says people of all fitness levels are welcome, with fitness instructors offering accommodations for different fitness levels and comfort levels.
The “Know Your Numbers” event will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27, at the Prado Senior Center, 2101 Ridge Road, for the initial health screenings and kickoff of the event.
The fitness and nutrition classes will be held every Tuesday from Sept. 3 to Oct. 1 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. and are open to the public, even if they didn't take part in the initial health screening.
