Actor, author and Christian activist Kirk Cameron announced that his second annual “Meet at the Library” event on Saturday drew a world record-breaking turnout.
“In June we set a world record with our drag queen story hour and Guinness recorded that 260 people attended. We had over 350 story hours and 30,000 people came out and were waving American flags. It was so awesome,” Cameron told “Fox & Friends Weekend” co-host Pete Hegseth.
“Guinness didn't come, but yesterday we had the world's largest story hour, 'Meet Me in the Library,'” Cameron continued.
Launched last year by Cameron and conservative publisher Brave Books, the nationwide event brings families together to pray, sing the national anthem and celebrate wholesome stories of patriotism and faith.

Cameron said the 2024 gathering will be even larger than last year's event. Brave Books and Cameron hope to set a world record for the largest children's library story hour, and submitted an application to Guinness World Records in July to record the event.
Cameron detailed what happened next in a post on X.
“The @BraveBooksus team and I have been trying for over a month to invite a Guinness World Records team judge to See You at the Library this Saturday, August 24th, but after submitting our application three times, we have never heard back, even though they promised to respond 'soon,'” Cameron wrote, sharing screenshots of her application and an email from Guinness.
“In fact, after each attempt, our applications would mysteriously disappear from our account. I included several screenshots of these occurrences in this post. It's unfortunate that we won't be able to set a record for family storytime attendance to thank Guinness for hosting us with a drag queen storytime during Pride Month. However, we will come together and set our own record, which will be disseminated through the media and will show American families how eager their libraries and country are to get back on track,” he continued.

Guinness World Records did not respond to a request for comment from Fox News Digital.
Cameron told Hegseth that he started “Meet at the Library” with Brave Books after the library “banned” the Brave Books Story Hour events, saying they didn't align with their “values.”
Despite the opposition they faced, Cameron says thousands of families showed up to their book readings, which led to the formation of a national event hosted by mothers and fathers across the country.
“I visited three churches yesterday and I was overwhelmed by the number of people who love God, love their families and love this country,” Cameron said.
“I'm so grateful that the values they celebrate are the values that have made this country great – faith, morality, education, law and freedom,” he added.
