Zbigniew Ziobro, the former Minister of Justice, expressed his opinion on social networks about his next invitation to the investigative commission of the Pegasus case. He is scheduled to appear in court on November 4. He wrote about the “possible commission” and pointed to the decision of the Constitutional Court in this case, which wants to block the activity of the commission.
Former Minister of Justice and PiS politician Zbigniew Ziobro is among those invited to the parliamentary investigative committee on the illegal use of the Pegasus spying program by the authorities in previous years. The Commission wants to hear Zbigniew Ziob on November 4.
Ziob has already been invited to the committee three times. He justified his absence twice by presenting a medical certificate of cancer.

“This card will even be funny”
On Thursday, Ziobro posted on his profile on the X website a photo of an invitation to appear before the commission. “This card would be even funny, and its authors would be good jokes, if it were not for the fact that, according to the judgment of the Constitutional Court, the members of this “so-called commission” committed a crime, in particular, according to Article 231 of the Criminal Code,” he explained. .
“On September 10, the Constitutional Court stated that the scope of activity of the parliamentary investigation committee on Pegasus does not correspond to the Constitution and removed it from the legal system. The deputies who present themselves as a non-existent commission will be prosecuted for this – that is the issue. It's time to send each of them a copy of the Constitutional Court's verdict so that they cannot defend themselves in court because they don't know,” added the former head of the Ministry of Justice.
The Pegasus Commission of Inquiry will investigate the legality, validity and appropriateness of activities using this software, including: by the government, secret services and the police from November 2015 to November 2023. The commission will also determine who can buy Pegasus and its tools. was similarly responsible for the Polish authorities.
The Constitutional Court wants to block the work of the commission
On September 10, the Constitutional Court declared that the scope of the Pegasus investigation commission is against the Constitution. Judge Stanislav Piotrovic, a former lawmaker of PiS, cited the court's decision and said that the decision to establish an investigative committee regarding Pegasus was “suffered by a legal defect.” According to the report of the Constitutional Court, the Sejm passed a resolution sitting in the “wrong” committee, preventing Mariusz Kaminski and Maciej Vasik (who were convicted by the final verdict) from their parliamentary mandates.
So far, the commission has heard among others: former deputy prime minister, PiS president Jarosław Kaczynski, former deputy head of the Ministry of Justice, politician of Sovereign Poland Michal Vos, former director of the Department of Family and Juvenile Affairs at the Ministry of Justice Mikołaj Pawlak and other employees of the Ministry of Justice.
Pegasus is a system created by the Israeli company NSO Group to combat terrorism and organized crime. Using Pegasus, you can not only listen to conversations from an infected smartphone, but also access other data stored on it, such as e-mails, photos or video recordings, as well as cameras and microphones.
