Kaczynski refers to Zbigniew Brzezinski
Kaczynski was asked whether there will be any consequences against the Vice President for Law and Justice Macerevich in connection with the many violations indicated in the experts' report. – I refer here to the statement of the late Zbigniew Brzezinski, who claimed that if the Chinese killed the US president, the United States would hide the truth about it. Brzezinski spoke of “irresponsible nonsense about the Smolensk offensive”.
On Thursday evening, the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Radoslav Sikorski published a post about this situation on social networks.
“Since PiS politicians cite the authority of my mentor and friend, Professor Zbigniew Brzezinski, on the Smolensk disaster, I would like to remind you what he really thought about their conspiracy theories,” he wrote.
It also included a fragment of an archived conversation between Zbigniew Brzezinski and Katarzyna Kolenda-Zalesca, reporter of “Fact” TV.
– This constant and irresponsible nonsense about any Smolensk attack without showing who was responsible for it, but suggesting that it was probably both the Polish government and maybe the Soviets and maybe both, is disgusting and so harmful that I I hope that most officials of the opposition to the government will treat it differently, – the political scientist said at that time.
– Because this is an extremely disgusting thing, which seems to be done by a few people who have some mental problems, maybe it is understandable from a human point of view, but it has no place in political life, and we should think about it. Because you cannot destroy what democracy is, and democracy is the ability to cooperate and compete, said Brzezinski.
Zbigniew Brzezinski
Zbigniew Brzezinski was the national security adviser of the US during the tenure of the Democratic President Jimmy Carter in 1977-1981.
After leaving the government in 1981, Brzezinski remained an influential expert on US foreign policy. He was particularly interested in political issues related to the USSR and the countries of the Eastern Bloc. The professor strongly supported the admission of Poland to NATO, and cooperated with the Polish-American community in this field.
Although he spent most of his life abroad, he was a patriot of two countries – not only the USA, but also Poland. Brzezinski died in May 2017 at the age of 89.
