Politico: Ukraine aid package before Trump's inauguration
Politico reported on Wednesday, citing sources in the administration of President Joe Biden, that the White House plans to deliver the last aid package worth six billion dollars to Ukraine before the inauguration of the newly elected President Donald Trump.
Politico wrote that it usually takes months for arms and ammunition to be shipped to Ukraine, so not everything approved as part of the new support package for Kiev will be ready to take office before the president-elect's administration takes office in the White House.
“We transferred everything we could, but the problem is that you can only transfer something after it is produced,” said a former US defense budget official who is now a fellow at the Center for Strategic and International Studies. – The Biden administration could reach the warehouses and send the equipment faster, but it is not known whether the Pentagon will agree to this or not, because it will affect its combat readiness, – he added.
