The indictment against Mateusz K., who in May in Kamenica, Poland, Silesia, poured inflammable substance on the interventionist police and wanted to set them on fire. Prosecutors charge him with attempted murder, which carries a life sentence.
The indictment was sent to the district court of Czestochowa. This refers to the events that happened in early May 2024.

On May 8, police officers intervened in a house on Magazinova Street in Kamenica Polska, where a drunken man had started a fight. Police found a woman with a two-year-old child outside the building who said her partner had poured flammable materials inside the house and threatened to set it on fire.
He tried to set the police on fire
– Seeing Mateusz S., seeing the officers spraying the flammable substance, holding a lighter, he threatened that if the police entered the property, he would set himself and the building on fire. Due to this man's behavior, a team of three police negotiators was called to the scene. During the conversation with the participants of the negotiations, Mateusz S. he poured a flammable substance on them and tried to set them on fire using a lighter. After that, he was defeated by other militiamen at the scene, – explained prosecutor Ozimek.
According to the report of the chemical expert, the man used gasoline or a solvent. The prosecutor's office also received the opinion of expert psychologists, according to which Mateusz was completely sane at the time of committing this act. The prosecutor accused him of attempting to kill three police officers. The man explained that he was drunk and did not remember the circumstances of the incident. He was arrested.
Mateusz S. no previous convictions. Now he can face 15 to 30 years in prison or life imprisonment.
