Bydgoszcz police officers checked the behavior of drivers and pedestrians as part of the “Safe Pedestrian” campaign. In one day, 60 crimes were detected in one street. Pedestrians are more likely to commit crimes when they run a red light or run into the road.
The “Safe Pedestrian” campaign was held on November 8 on Wojska Polskiego Avenue in Bydgoszcz. Its aim was to increase the safety of pedestrians as road users. The ITS monitoring system used by the Bydgoszcz Road and Public Transport Authority was used.
In the scope of their activities, police officers paid attention to the behavior of drivers towards pedestrians, but also to the pedestrians themselves. The recording shows, for example, pedestrians crossing or running a red light.
