On Thursday, five thousand letters came to the office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland. These are citizens' comments on the Civil Partnership Law. Public consultations on this issue are now coming to an end. Activists are concerned, among other things, about the possibility of partner adoption. Meanwhile, PSL politicians say they are working on their bill. – The PSL thought it knew what we needed better than we did, explained Hubert Sobecki from the Milosz Ni Waileza Association.
On Thursday, five boxes were brought to the office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland – boxes with letters from citizens who wrote what was missing in the Civil Partnership Act. – Our life is in these boxes, in these letters, – said Hubert Sobecki from the Association “Love does not exclude”.
“If it was 20 years ago, I would have applauded, but today I think it's really sad,” said writer Renata Lis, speaking about the points of the draft act on civil partnership.
Now the public discussion on this project is over. – The project, which is not perfect, does not fully satisfy the social side, but it can be accepted, – admitted Katarzina Kotula, Minister of Equality, MP from the left.

What does the government project mean?
The bill regulates property, tax and medical issues. – My wife and I are strangers to Polish laws, and the older we get, the more we feel it, because we start to get sick – said Renata Lis.
For couples raising children together, the project offers so-called micro-custody, which regulates small, everyday issues. – I can register my children for travel, I can go to meetings without having to go to any new facility, – says Mrs. Karolina.
What was included in the letters and what was not in the draft was the ceremony at the office and the adoption of the children. Citizens will not get these rights, because the Polish People's Party did not want to agree to it. – At the moment, I am waiting for the PSL to clarify (…) if there is anything else that the PSL wants to work on – says Katarzyna Kotula.

PSL has to submit its proposals
PSL wants to work, but in its project. “The project has been prepared and will probably be presented soon,” said Ursula Paslawska, a deputy from the Polish People's Party. – The Yeti Act, with all due respect, but we are talking about an act that no one has seen, said the Minister for Equality.
The People's Party sees it as follows: instead of a union in the office, a contract with a notary. – The main difference is freedom and voluntariness in the formation of a contract between the closest people, – said Urzula Pasławska.
But it is difficult to find people who want to sign such a contract. – PSL never talked to us. PSL thought it knew what we needed better than we did. (…) We don't want this law, it is unnecessary, it is unnecessary, there is a law and you are breaking it – explained Hubert Sobecki of the Association of Love does not exclude.

Citizens sent thousands of letters as part of the public consultations on the draft Law on Partnership of Citizens. – The smallest town from which we received a letter is a town with 35 people, said Hubert Sobecki. The ministries, in turn, sent hundreds of pages of comments. There are also opinions of experts and lawyers. – Who says that this is the right direction, this act is necessary and this act should be accepted, – said Katarzyna Kotula.
