According to the minister, these meetings mean that “Poland is an important partner”. – If the envoys of the new US president meet with the president of the Republic of Poland, this is a very important signal. If they also meet with the mayor of Warsaw – a famous politician who is respected in the USA, this is also a very good signal. This also shows the effectiveness of President Trzaskovsky's apparatus, which was able to attract them, – said Kosniak-Kamys.

We have the great trust of the Americans and the multi-billion dollar contracts that we have signed. This is our insurance policy. We have something that President Trump took care of during his first term in office. He said that if we want to be defended, we should spend money to be ready to defend ourselves. Poland is number one today and spends 4.2 (percent of GDP on defense – ed.), Kosiniak-Kamysh said.
“Russia is also on this blacklist”
On Wednesday, a ceremonial opening ceremony of the American anti-missile shield base was held in Redzikow (Pomeranian Voivodeship), the purpose of which is to protect American and European allies from ballistic missiles. The Minister of Defense assured that this base will also protect Poland. – The database formula has changed over the years. Initially, it focused mainly on Iran and North Korea, but the blacklist has expanded and Russia is also on the blacklist, Kosiniak-Kamysh said.
Asked if this base will also protect against a possible attack by Belarus or Russia, Kosiniak-Kamys said: – It will be very comprehensive. That's all I can say.
He added that he would, of course, prefer that the database never be used, but “we are already seeing its activity.” – Today he is obliged to stop. This is an important stage in the air defense of NATO and allied countries. This is the cornerstone of the permanent presence of American troops in Poland. A missile base is not something you can pack into two suitcases and leave Poland in 15 minutes.
