Prime Minister Donald Tusk posted an early election poll for internet users on social media and wrote that “the results of the big poll will be on Monday, the primaries will be held on Friday and the results will be announced on Saturday.” Next week, the Civic Alliance will decide who will be the club's presidential candidate – Radosław Sikorski or Rafal Trzaskowski.
On Saturday, Prime Minister Donald Tusk published an entry on the X platform, which includes the first online election poll for users of the portal. “Big poll results on Monday, primaries on Friday and results on Saturday!” – he wrote. He did not specify which “major research” he was talking about.
“I wonder how you vote?” – added the prime minister and emphasized that the names of Radoslav Sikorski and Rafal Trzaskovsky are listed in alphabetical order.
The mayor of Warsaw, the deputy chairman of the Civic Platform, Rafal Trzaskowski, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Radoslaw Sikorski, of the Civic Coalition, which the Prime Minister also mentioned, will participate in the primaries.
Members of the Civic Alliance parties: PO, Nowoczesna, Inychatywa Polska and the Greens will take part in the SMS vote, which will take place on November 22.
Poll: more than half of respondents believe that Trzaskovsky will win
Meanwhile, in a poll published on Saturday on the Rzeczpospolita website, respondents were asked: “Who do you think will win the presidential election of the Civil Alliance?”
57.8 percent of respondents chose Rafal Trzaskovsky and 15.7 percent chose Radoslav Sikorski. 21 percent of the respondents do not have an opinion about it, and 5.4 percent of the respondents stated that they have not heard about the election of the Central Committee. The study authors noted that these numbers do not add up to 100 percent due to rounding of results to the first decimal point.
The survey was conducted by the research agency SW Research among users of the SW Panel online panel on November 12-13. The analysis covered a group of 800 Internet users over 18 years old. The sample was randomly selected by quota. The structure of the sample was adjusted using analytical weighting to match the structure of Poles over 18 years of age according to the main characteristics related to the research topic. When constructing the weights, socio-demographic variables were taken into account.
