A passing train collided with passenger cars at an unguarded railway crossing in Kaluze, Łódź Voivodeship. The 77-year-old driver of the car died, said graduate student Katarzyna Grela, press officer of Vielun district police office.
Staff Sergeant Grela reported that the accident occurred at approximately 8:10 p.m. at an unguarded railway crossing in the town of Kaluze, in the commune of Patnowi, Lodz province.
– According to the preliminary conclusion, the driver of the “Volkswagen LT” car hit a passing train on the Tarnovskie Gori-Vielun Dabrova route at an uncontrolled railway crossing. Unfortunately, despite medical assistance, the 77-year-old driver of the car died. – she added.
Staff graduate Machei Dura, press officer of Vielun District Headquarters, said that after the first fire brigades arrived, the car was on the railway tracks. The driver was driving alone and the incident happened on a county road.
