The construction control inspector of the Lower Silesia province revealed that the damage to the Stronie Słaskie dam, which occurred during the September flood, occurred in a place where earthworks related to the laying of pipelines had previously been carried out. Authorities have ordered Polski Valley to provide a break until the dam is repaired.
On September 15, the Morava Dam in Stronie Słaskie burst, resulting in great destruction in Stronie Słaskie and Ladek-Zdroj. Information was found on the Internet that the damage to the dam occurred in a place where excavation work was done earlier. This is confirmed by the document compiled by the regional construction control inspector.
“As a result of the filling of the dry flood reservoir in Stronie Slskie on September 15, 2024 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., water rose about 10 cm above the level of the wall and filled it from its side. the crown (right side) of the dam” – it is stated in the decision taken on November 15 by the control inspector of the Lower Silesia region. Construction (WINB).
“The locations of hydraulic breakthroughs through the dam body coincide with three excavation locations for cable channels, including three trenches under the dam crest,” WINB noted.

As the inspector stated, the performed work was unjustified and “damage of the cable channels caused the disaster of the dam”. The document also mentions, among other things, violations of documents.
Its implementation was commissioned by Wadi Polskie. Until the damaged dam is rebuilt, Polish waters must fence and mark the danger zone – according to WINB's decision.
A group of prosecutors has been appointed at the Świdnica District Prosecutor's Office to investigate the breach of the earthen dam of the dry reservoir in Stronie Slskie on the Moravka River. The investigation into the sudden construction accident is ongoing.
