The city police headquarters in Bialystok described the incident of an 88-year-old man as a warning. The man was not fooled because he immediately realized that he was talking to a scammer.
He introduced himself as a police officer fighting against organized crime groups. The old man decided to continue the conversation.
One day, the man heard that he was next on the list of criminals. By donating his savings to help catch the scammer, he was supposed to be protected from the threat.

While hanging up the phone, the senior pretended to count the cash. At the same time, he was stuffing tissues into a plastic bag. He covered the parcel with small bills to outwit the scammers.
He placed the bag on the doormat, tied the string to it, closed the door, and waited. Finally, the aforementioned “police officer” appeared.
“The 88-year-old man started pulling on the string, and the receiver pulled him in the opposite direction. After a while, the elderly man opened the door and grabbed the bag from the receiver's hand, but the receiver ran away.” I read it in the police statement. A resident of Bialystok made an elaborate plan and saved him from the actual theft.
The announcement did not say whether the fraudster had been arrested or what stage of the search for the fraudster had taken place.
