A bottle containing a letter thrown into the Atlantic Ocean 16 years ago has been found on an Australian coast. The message, according to its author, was thrown into the sea off the coast of Brazil, so it traveled a very long distance. Its discoverer is very lucky – he receives a reward for his discovery.
The bottle containing the letter was discovered by local resident Tony who was walking on the beach in Peterborough, Victoria.
The note inside said, “Hello, your curiosity has been rewarded. Thank you for taking the time to pull out this bottle and see what's inside.”

After news spread that the bottle had been found, its owner, Joe Johnson, came forward and admitted in an ABC interview that he threw the bottle into the ocean between Rio de Janeiro and Salvador, Brazil.
Most of the bottles have not yet been found
Mr Johnson also revealed that the couple went on numerous cruises and regularly left bottles with the same message for the person who discovered them. He estimates there may be as many as 100 of them.
So far, only one other person besides Tony has discovered the message, but there may be more such discoveries in the future. When asked if he intended to pay the promised fee, he answered, “Of course.”

“It's amazing that it lived in the ocean for 16 years,” they said. “If this bottle could talk, it would tell amazing stories.”
