After three months of flooding in southern Poland, the most important thing is to help people rebuild their homes and prepare for the coming winter of their lives, perhaps the most difficult in these circumstances. But now we must also show those places where another such disaster is inevitable and it is very dangerous to build anything.
Although several months have passed, Mr. Andrzej is still struggling with the consequences of the great September flood. But it is more wet walls. “The only thing that scares me is that the river is very close,” admits Mr. Andrzej, a resident of Krosnowice.
It is only tens of meters away from the river. – We don't know how the winter will be, how the underground water will rise, how the river will rise. I am not saying that it will fill us like a flood, but it will flood, he emphasizes.

Both flooding and future flooding are, unfortunately, certain in many areas. This is where the idea of creating uninhabited “red zones” came from, where it would be possible to relocate them.
– This infrastructure, which is completely destroyed, i.e. it is now a construction disaster and is located in the red zones according to the nomenclature of Polish waters, these should be the elements that should be purchased voluntarily first. I emphasize: Voluntary, – the authorized representative of the government on post-flood reconstruction Marcin Kirvinskyi said at the conference.
Entrepreneurs feel abandoned by the government
This is one of the topics discussed by the members of the emergency commission on flood protection measures, which gathered today in Klodzko. – We are here to investigate and investigate the law that we are currently passing. We have already included two amendments in the act, – says deputy from the civil coalition Marek Chmielevsky.
A lot of things are said about entrepreneurs, mostly as a compliment. – We met these expectations by preparing various ministries, including the Ministry of Development and Technology, benefits and tools designed to improve and enable the return to normal activities and business activities, – says Michal Yaros, a representative of the Civil Alliance.

Unfortunately, the reality for most entrepreneurs is a bit different, and today they mostly feel abandoned by the state.
– Not two thousand, not eight thousand. We are here to pay taxes and take care of ourselves. We don't get any help. Even in building materials, says Ms. Christina, an entrepreneur from Stronie Slaskie.
And that could mean the end of business. – There is not enough money to restore business and people's lives. It's crazy hard. We try to respond and talk to entrepreneurs on a regular basis, says Marcin Kirwinski.
Minister Kirwinski notes the exemption of ZUS for five months and the increase of the allowance limit to PLN 200,000. And it promises more.
