Ukrainian forces carried out the first attack using only direct-view drones and drones, destroying Russian positions near Kharkiv, the Institute for War Studies reported.
The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) said in its latest report that Ukrainian forces carried out their first offensive using only unmanned military vehicles (UGVs) and unmanned aerial vehicles (FPVs).
According to the US think tank, the first such attack points to Kiev's continued efforts to use technological innovations in ground operations.

According to the statement of the Ukrainian brigade, which operated near Kharkiv, this operation was carried out near the town located in the north of Kharkiv and the destruction of Russian positions.
The spokesman of this unit said that Ukrainian forces carried out the attack using dozens of aircraft equipped with machine guns. They also used these vehicles to place and remove mines at undisclosed locations in the area, the ISW added.
“Ukraine is also interested in the development of innovations in the production of drones. The General Staff announced the completion of the test of a drone attached to optical fiber cables, which will be more resistant to electronic interference. A company producing drones of Ukraine stated, which recently assembled the first prototype FPV drone made entirely of components manufactured in Ukraine,” the Institute noted.
