A BMW crashed into a crowd at high speed on Friday night during the Christmas market in Magdeburg. Five people died, 86 were seriously injured, and 41 were in critical condition.
Bartłomierzy Bukowski, president of the Polish Association of Magdeburg, told Polsat News that residents of the city, as well as all of Germany, were still in shock. He stressed that the attack took place at a time when an unusually large number of people had gathered at the fairgrounds.
Magdeburg. “People are frustrated.”
The Polsat News guest added that shock is gradually turning into irritation among some people. – Slowly, this shock and sadness is replaced by irritation. The people are irritated because politicians come and say the same thing every time. They express sympathy and promise to accept the consequences, but then no consequences are triggered, he said.
– We are in a very extreme situation. People are crying and helpless, he added.
The union's president said there was no verified information and that most of the information provided by the media was false. This behavior is intentional. “If it turns out that the perpetrator had an accomplice, they won't be able to get information,” he said.

– It is also unclear whether the attackers were actually opponents of Islam or vice versa. – This is a big unknown. There is conflicting information. Some say he was an Islamophobe, others say Saudi authorities warned him today. There are two completely different statements from the official side, he said.
He added that there are many theories about the attacker himself. He is a psychiatrist and has lived in Germany for almost 20 years. – The second thought is that maybe this guy was threatened by someone or someone threatened him. Therefore, we have to wait for the results of the investigation. We are cautious about our conclusions.
