An explosion riding on a Russian tanker, Koala. The crew managed to escape. The ship was stuck at the above port of UST-West, west of St. Petersburg. The tanker transported heating oil – the public sender in Finland said.
The explosion occurred on Sunday morning. Russian maritime transport said in a telegram that “an explosion occurred in the engine compartment,” UST-BąT-BąT-AFP, west of St. Petersburg, is reporting.
The crew fled the ship, but as mentioned, the explosion did not cause “a leak of load or leakage of petroleum products.” There was no risk of sinking the ship.
The Russians guarantee services for the cases involved in the investigation.

Koala tankers, built in 2023 and floating under the flags of Antigui and Barbuda, came to UST Service on Thursday, according to Vesselfinder.
Russia’s basic channel is a large amount of heavy fuel oil, which the ships say is transporting 130,000.
