John added that he doesn't believe in a flashy lifestyle. Rather, he thinks everyone should strive to make money and that there's nothing wrong with wanting more money. However, living a simple lifestyle is important to him. He says:
“Value creation is more important than wealth creation…I always say I'm a middle-class person, not to glamorize my struggles, but to say that the values that all middle-class people have are their greatest strength. It's an advantage to be middle-class…You can make money, you can create wealth, but mentally you'll always remain middle-class.”
John Abraham said all his clothes fit into one suitcase.
In the same conversation, John said that he doesn't own big or flashy clothes. Instead, he only owns a few clothes that fit in one suitcase. Additionally, drivers often encourage him to buy a bigger car to be more comfortable, but John doesn't feel it's necessary. He said:
“I don't want to give any misunderstanding, but all the clothes I own fit into one suitcase. I don't have that many clothes and I like to keep it simple. I usually wear slippers. I drive a pick-up truck and a driver who has been working with me for years has often told me to buy a more expensive car. I asked him why. When I go for shoots, the production company sends me an Innova but my office is just a kilometre away from my house. What would I do if I had a Rs 40 lakh car? It is a depreciating asset and has nothing to do with work at all.”
