In the video, the elder statesman can be seen walking down a corridor with his hands behind his back and into an interview room as his male companion marvels at his ebullient personality, The Punch reported.

The New Telegraph reported that an accompanying man was surprised at Obasanjo's fast pace and said:
“Old soldiers never die. No way!” Obasanjo replied. “They just fade away.”
The former president then said:
“I still play squash three times a week, Monday, Wednesday and Friday.”
In another short video, Professor Pat Utomi, a political economist and former presidential candidate, welcomed President Obasanjo, saying:
“You're starting to look sporty again,” he said without any surprise, as if he was well aware of the 87-year-old man's health.
When asked to help, carrying a brown leather bag over his shoulder, Obasanjo declined, saying, “No, leave it to me.”

This is not the first time Obasanjo has shown off his training prowess.
Recall that in 2022, former President Obasanjo, who was 85 years old, displayed extraordinary agility while playing football on the five-a-side football pitch at the Presidential Library.
The innovative soccer match, attended by the former president, was part of celebrations for his 85th birthday.
Senator Dino Melaye shared a video of Obasanjo on the pitch and described him as a £100 million striker who was showcased for Arsenal and the Super Eagles.

In a separate development, Legit.ng reported that former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo has accused the National Assembly of arbitrarily deciding the salaries of lawmakers.
Obasanjo also alleged that the executive branch was giving unfair emoluments to federal lawmakers who then collected them.

According to the former president, the lawmakers collected 200 million naira each, adding that all this is immoral.
