Now in its second year, the Xiaohongshu Street Life Festival has kicked off in Shanghai. The public event aims to blend online lifestyle trends with real-world experiences. The event kicked off with the unveiling of a 20-metre-tall installation called “Street Ducks” along the Huangpu River. The striking installation is designed to symbolise love and creativity and has already attracted a lot of attention.
Taking place from August 23 to September 1, the Xiaohongshu Street Life Festival is part of the larger “Shanghai Summer” initiative, with a range of activities taking place across five specially decorated streets. More than 200 themed events will be held, including concerts, art exhibitions, fashion shows and food tours, all reflecting Shanghai's vibrant urban culture.
According to Xiaohongshu's marketing director, one of the festival's key objectives is to elevate youth culture and drive consumer engagement. With over 500 creators participating from around the world, the festival aims to enrich the Xiaohongshu community as well as contribute to Shanghai's reputation as a dynamic, culturally rich city.
