Sandy Lo is a published novelist, journalist and songwriter from Staten Island, New York. In 2001, Sandy founded StarShine Magazine where she established an online presence for herself and had the opportunity to interview celebrities like Backstreet Boys, Taylor Swift, Jessica Simpson, 30 Seconds To Mars & many more.
Sandy has used her knowledge, love and experience in the music industry as inspiration for her commonly musically themed books. Her debut novel, “Lost In You” was self-published in 2009 and inspired by her love of ’90s pop music, citing groups like Backstreet Boys and 98 Degrees in the acknowledgments. Sandy followed with “The Dream Catchers Series”, which was received well by her growing fan base and launched the fictitious band, Tortured, which was influenced by the music of 30 Seconds To Mars. “Haley’s Letter”, a song Sandy Lo wrote with longtime friend, James Manzello is available on iTunes as part of the promotional campaign for “Dream Catchers”.
In the summer of 2011, Sandy launched “Sandy Lo TV” on her website and YouTube, featuring old time StarShine Magazine alum, Aaron Carter. The video has become a frequently watched interview of Sandy’s and a favorite for his fans. Currently, Sandy is living in Nashville, TN where she is working on her upcoming novel, “The Watch Dog”, a bit of a departure from her past romantically driven books. With this book, Sandy hopes to combine harsh emotions with a supernatural undertone.
Sandy has also decided to retire StarShine Magazine in the formal sense in order to focus more on her own writing career. She plans to brand her name by continuing “Sandy Lo TV” and featuring entertainers and music she truly loves, rather than what the industry wants her to. Interviews and reviews will still be published on www.sandy-lo.com under the StarShine Magazine tag, however.
