Boston Latin School in Massachusetts once again took the top spot in this year's U.S. News & World Report high school rankings.
Yes, the perennial top-ranked school once again took the No. 1 spot in the Bay State in the public school rankings released Tuesday for the Class of 2024. The testing school came in at No. 27 on the national list and was one of only two Massachusetts schools to make the top 100 (Pioneer Valley Chinese Immersion Charter School in Hadley was No. 100).
That said, Massachusetts had the highest percentage of high schools ranked in the publication's top 25% (43.9%), followed by Connecticut (42.9%) and New Jersey (42.1%). Additionally, 10.5% of Massachusetts schools, or 37 schools, ranked in the publication's top 5%.
The rankings are based on six factors: college readiness (30%), breadth of college curriculum (10%), state assessment proficiency (20%), state assessment performance (20%), achievement of underserved students (10%) and graduation rate (10%).
