Adam Sandler speaks out about concerns over his daughters' lifestyle
Adam Sandler has spoken about how his daughters encourage him to get better, revealing that they often tell him to “chill out” and eat healthier.
Speaking exclusively to PEOPLE magazine at the New York premiere of his Netflix comedy special, Adam Sandler: Love You, on Tuesday, August 20, the 57-year-old actor opened up about how his daughters, Sunny, 15, and Sadie, 18, encourage him to prioritize his health.
“They always look out for me and my health, just like I looked out for my dad,” Sandler said.
The “Happy Gilmore” star added, “I was yelling at my dad to stop smoking because I'm like, 'I want this guy around,' and my kids were yelling at me to calm down a little bit and eat like a normal person.”
Sandler made the remarks earlier this month after revealing on “The Joe Rogan Experience” podcast that Sadie had advised him to use the same personal trainer she used while filming 2008's “You Don't Mess with the Zohan.”
“I used to take my training very seriously and now I can't do it at all,” the comedian said.
He explained, “I play basketball and then I eat. Every time I eat I'm like, 'What am I doing? I don't have to do that.' I can't stop. I just get a little bit fatter all over.”
Adam Sandler said, “It's really hard right now,” adding, “My kids, my daughter Sadie, are always saying, 'Dad, get on the train from Zohan. Why did you give up that? Why did you quit?'” he revealed that he told his daughter, “It's hard work.”
