Andrzej Potocki graduated from the Faculty of Christian Philosophy at the Catholic University of Lublin. He began his political activities at the NSZZ “Solidarność”. He had long been associated with the Democratic Union, which merged with the Liberal Democratic Congress before becoming the Free Union.
Potocki was a member of SEJM for Article 1 and III Terms (1991-2001) on behalf of the Democratic Union and the Free Union. In 2001, he was unable to join Parliament. He then competed in local elections and elections to the European Parliament.
