On Friday, a 14-year-old boy was hit by a bus driver in Wola district of Warsaw. The driver did not help the child and left the scene. The teenager died in the hospital. On Saturday, the police arrested a 43-year-old bus driver. The man was charged and on Tuesday the court decided to impose a three-month suspended sentence against him.
– There was fear of escape, fear of fraud and the possibility of severe punishment for the suspect, – says Maciej Dejak from the Warsaw District Prosecutor’s Office.
Andrzej K. claims that he was unaware of the incident after the accident. It is said that after this incident he hid the car and drank alcohol together with a family member. At the time of his arrest, he was in a drunken state, a police test showed two parts per thousand of alcohol. According to the prosecutor’s office, there is no evidence that he was drunk at the time of the accident.

Andrzej K., although his driver’s license was revoked for driving under the influence of alcohol, was driving a bus and delivering parcels to a courier company when the tragic accident occurred.

Reporters “Attention!” TVN was able to reach a man who knows the 43-year-old. – He was driving under the influence of alcohol, – admitted a friend of the driver who hit the 14-year-old teenager.
– He was often seen in our shop. (…) When he came to us with a friend, my boss asked how he could be a courier? And he said, “I’ve got another one, and when the police are there, he jumps up and grabs it.” They were riding together, later I heard that they were riding alone – he says.

– He often came in a “heavy” state, it was known that he was drunk. Once we called the police and they said: “Please come to the police station and report.” They did not come to the scene, the man adds.
According to the man, on Friday, when the accident happened, the 43-year-old man was at work and was driving around Warsaw’s Wola district.

Criminal record of the driver who hit the teenager
It turns out that this 43-year-old man was known to law enforcement agencies. – His last comment was that he was arrested for taking migrants across the border. He said that he went into the forest and chose whom he would take. Two thousand euros per head. They were often transported during Jagiellonian Białystok match days. They were painted and dressed as fans, says a friend of the arrested.
– He studied three courses and probably earned four hundred sums. I think they caught him in the third. He didn’t show up for supervision, he had a probation officer at home who knew about the situation and did nothing about it. He adds that the police have been looking for him for some time.

– I immediately believed that this incident happened at the pedestrian crossing. There was no other way to cross the road. This was taught to him from childhood, – adds the woman. – This person should be punished justly, as provided for by Polish law. You can’t get over it, a child died, says the 14-year-old mother of the deceased.
