Two European men indicted in 'swatting' scheme targeting members of Congress and senior US government officials
Washington — Two European men are accused of filing false police emergency reports and attempting to harass and intimidate members of Congress, U.S. government officials and dozens of others, according to an indictment unsealed Wednesday. According to the federal indictment, the suspects, Tomas Szabo, 26, of Romania, and Nemanja Radovanovic, 21, of Serbia, made “swatting” calls to at least 100 people, provoking aggressive responses by police officers at the victims' homes. The calls also included threats to carry out a mass shooting at a synagogue in New York City and to detonate explosives at the U.S. Capitol and at a…

Little League World Series Champions, Lake Mary, Florida. Photo: Lake Mary Little League Banner Sports is sponsored by the Patriots Foundation His name is Teraj Anderson, and in his yellow-and-black uniform he vaguely recalls Smokey Burgess, the rotund catcher who helped the Pittsburgh Pirates beat the New York Yankees in the 1960 World Series. He's a 12-year-old African-American boy who plays in the bullpen and as a backup catcher and bats ninth for the 2024 Williamsport Little League Championship team in Lake Mary, Fla. He drove in the decisive run and stole home plate in the team's 10-7 win over…
Luc de Zeeuw/iStock via Getty Images Investment Thesis My previous bullish thesis on Gigacloud Technologies (NASDAQ:GCT) was extremely unjustified. The stock has lost 45% of its value since May 5, 2024. To provide some context, the broader stock market has risen almost 10% over the same period. Frankly, I may have been wrong, as I overestimated the strength and potential of the company's business model. Despite the continued surge in revenue, key profitability metrics have stagnated over the past few quarters. This may indicate that the operating leverage potential of the business model is rather limited and that EPS expansion…

If you're planning on picking fifth in a PPR draft, the easiest first step in preparation is to rank your five favorite fantasy football players: five running backs, five receivers, a combination of two positions, or five quarterbacks if you're superflexible. I know I'll get one of those, easy. You can view my top 5 list along with 195 other players. I followed my list and chose the highest ranked players remaining. 1. Christian McCaffrey2. C.D. Lam3. Tyreek Hill4. Breece Hall5. Bijan Robinson To be honest, I was tempted to put Amon-Ra St. Brown or Justin Jefferson in the top…

Google's new AI-based system for fielding questions before all-hands meetings is giving the company's leaders an easy way out, employees say. Previously, employees could post their own questions through an internal tool called Dory and vote for the ones they wanted answered at monthly staff meetings, known as TGIFs. Google executives, including CEO Sundar Pichai, would typically answer the questions with the most votes, Business Insider reported. But the process changed in April, and several anonymous employees told BI that the new system only asks simple questions. Google replaced Dory with a new AI-based system called Ask, which aggregates and…
