Videogames Europe and the European Game Developers Federation (EGDF) have published this year's Key Facts report, presenting a “comprehensive and conclusive picture of the European videogame sector” in 2023. Highlights of the report include: 75% of European video game players are adults, with an average age of 31.4. 53% of Europeans play video games. The overall European workforce grew 6.7% to about 115,000 people. Revenues in France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the UK grew 5% to 25.7 billion euros ($28.7 billion). Norovirus outbreak infects more than 450 people in Japan A norovirus outbreak has occurred in southwestern Japan, infecting 458 people who ate meals cooked with potentially contaminated hot spring water at the Kurotakeso inn in Yufu, Oita Prefecture. The incident occurred between August 10 and 12, during which time more than 500 guests visited the inn. (RTTNews) – Microchip Technology Corp. (MCHP) said Tuesday that “unauthorized parties” had disrupted the use of certain of the company's servers and some of its business operations. Microchip said in a filing with the SEC that it detected suspicious activity related to its information technology systems on Aug. 17. “Upon discovering the issue, we began taking steps to evaluate, contain, and remediate the potentially unauthorized activity.
