A Greek court has sentenced a 32-year-old Bangladeshi national to life in prison plus 13 years in prison for the murder of a 27-year-old Polish woman on the Greek island of Kos in 2023, local media reported.
Anastaža, 27, from Wrocław, was working in one of the hotels on the Greek island of Kos. The Polish woman went missing on the night of June 12th and 13th. Her body was discovered several days later on June 18th. It was located near the road connecting Tigaki and Marmari.

According to Greek media reports, the Polish woman had contacted her boyfriend, who also lives on the island, by mobile phone before her disappearance. Shortly after 10:30 p.m., Anastaja called and told her that she was drunk, and one of the men she met offered to take her to her hotel room on a motorbike. She then shared her location with her partner, but when the men arrived, Anastasia was not there. But her phone was off.

Police determined the woman had been strangled. Previously, the 27-year-old was allegedly subjected to torture and sexual assault. “The woman was handcuffed,” Greek portal site Ethnos reported.
Salahuddin S., 32, a Bangladeshi national, has been arrested on charges of kidnapping, rape and murder in connection with the death of a Polish woman. Greek investigators say he acted alone.

His trial began on Monday, December 2nd. The victim's mother was at the scene and watched the hearing. Testimony was given by, among others: A police officer investigating an incident. Bangladeshis have always maintained their innocence.
