The blik operator, i.e. Polish Payment Standard (PSP), has changed from a limited liability company to a joint-stock company – the company announced in a press release. He added that he intends to strengthen his position in Poland and abroad.
PSP said that as a result of the transformation, it took the form of a joint-stock company, which facilitates the implementation of the company's strategic plans. It was added that the new status of the company was officially entered into the National Court Register on November 29, 2024.

“This change is a natural stage of the company's development, which will allow it to further strengthen its position in the market and increase the efficiency of its activities both in Poland and abroad,” the press release emphasized.
The Polish Payments Standard was created in 2013 by the initiative of six Polish banks – Alior Bank, Bank Millennium, Santander Bank Polska, ING Bank Śląski, mBank and PKO Bank Polski in order to create a single standard for mobile payments. In 2015, PSP introduced the Blik mobile payment system to the market, which is now available in the bank's mobile applications.
PSP reported that at the end of September 2024, approximately 17.4 million users are actively using Blik. In the third quarter of the current year, users of this solution made 625.5 million transactions, that is, 38% more y/y. The value of these transactions was PLN 89.4 billion – 42%. more than a year ago.

Paying through Blik involves generating one-time 6-digit codes that are valid for a limited time. These codes are entered into the payment terminal and based on them the transaction is authorized by the bank. Contactless payments are also available. According to this method, after unlocking, just bring your phone close to the payment terminal.
As part of the Blik system, we can also send money to a phone number. To receive a transfer to your phone, you must have a banking application and a phone registered to the Blik service.
