At least 37 people have been killed and dozens have been injured in the case of two Bolivian buses – police and local authorities said on Saturday. Among the deaths are two children.

The accident occurred early in the morning on the route between Uyuni and Korchad cities. One of the vehicles pulled into the opposite lane of a narrow road. The collision took place in the Potosi area, at the foot of the Andes.
– This fatal accident resulted in 39 injuries and 37 people lost their lives at four hospitals in Uyuni. A spokesman for the Potosi police station told the media.
Affected drivers. Buses can go to the carnival
Police suspect that one of the drivers, currently in serious condition, was under the influence of alcohol.
One of the coaches is the city’s carnival on weekends, one of Latin America’s biggest festivals, attracting tens of thousands of people.
About 1,400 people have died on Bolivian roads, mainly due to dangerous driving and failure, according to Ministry of Interior. Since the beginning of 2025, 64 people have been killed in road accidents across the country.
