Carer’s Allowance is given to elderly people over 75 years of age or to people who cannot live independently. The support is indexed every year, which means that it will increase quickly. What are the conditions to be fulfilled in order to pay social security care allowance?
Care allowance is a benefit established in the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan “On pensions and disability benefits from the social insurance fund of December 17, 1998”. The social security institution is responsible for payment.
Who is entitled to Carer’s Allowance?
“The allowance is assigned to a person who is recognized as completely incapable of working and living independently or who is over 75 years old,” explains the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Policy.
Privileges are not granted to persons staying in social protection homes, nursing homes, and medical treatment facilities, unless they are out of said facilities for more than 2 weeks per month.
Are allowance and care allowance the same?
Carer’s Allowance and Carer’s Allowance are two different benefits that are often confused. The first is indexed annually and paid by ZUS.
Care allowance, on the other hand, is much less indexed and paid by the municipality or municipality. Carer’s Allowance is paid to cover part of the costs incurred as a result of the need to care for and support another person due to the inability to live independently. The amount of care allowance is PLN 215.84 per month.
It is important to note that both allowances and allowances cannot be received at the same time.
How much is Carer’s Allowance?
From March 1, 2024 to February 28, 2025, the monthly care allowance is PLN 330.07. As a result of the upcoming indexation, the profit will increase to PLN 348.31 per month.
ZUS pays the money together with the pension. Importantly, the allowance is exempt from income tax and should not be subject to judicial or administrative enforcement.
How to apply for a grant?
Elderly people over 75 years of age are assigned care allowance according to their duties. This means that they do not provide any documents and their health status is not taken into account.
However, for other people, it is necessary to submit an application. However, before that, the ZUS certified doctor must confirm the full ability to work and live independently.
A health certificate (OL-9 form) is also required for registration. It is filled out by the attending physician no later than one month before the date of submission of the application for benefits.
