Harsh weather conditions in the Czech Republic. Prague’s Vaclav Havel Airport was closed on Sunday due to black ice on the runway. Meteorological authorities and the Road Bureau warned of icy roads.
Airport authorities urged travelers to check the status of individual flights on the prg.aero website. There are also problems with public transportation routes to the terminal.
Warnings for black ice and freezing sleet are in effect across the country, except for Silesia and some parts of the southern Czech Republic.

Meteorologists point out that a temporary cessation of rain doesn’t mean it’s over. A new wave of rain is approaching the Czech Republic from the west. It is or will be cold rain. Snow may still remain in mountainous areas.
The biggest problems are signaled by roads that pass through hills and mountains. Trucks and buses are not good at climbing hills.

Road workers have urged motorists not to drive on mountain roads without chains. The D5 motorway from Pilsen to Prague was closed for several hours.
