We want to keep the existing maximum price of electricity at the same level as this year. This buys us time to implement and accelerate systemic solutions, including the acceleration of renewable energy, said Urzula Zielinska, Deputy Minister of Climate and Environment in “#BezKitu” on TVN24.
Speaking on “#BezKitu”, Deputy Minister of Climate and Environment Ursula Zielinska announced that the project to freeze electricity prices for next year will be discussed at the next government meeting.
– We want to keep the existing protection systems, i.e. the price ceiling at the same level as this year, – said the deputy minister. To the question whether he can guarantee that the price of electricity will remain at the same level, he answered that he will guarantee it when the project is accepted in the Sejm and then voted by the president.
He added that he hopes for the adoption of the bill in the Seimas and the signing of the document by the president. – This will buy us time to implement and accelerate these systemic solutions, including the acceleration of renewable energy, – he added.
– This week (next – ed.) will be a very green week in the Seimas. This week we are working on the act to improve and accelerate the implementation of renewable investments. We will also deal with the prosumer act, where those who have photovoltaics on their roof can save up to hundreds of zlotys, announced the Deputy Minister of Climate.

“I hope the president wants to lower prices”
Referring to the president's remarks about the wind farm project, Zielinska said that she “hopes that the president also wants the price of electricity to be cheaper and lower.” When asked to explain Andrzej Duda's words about “landscape destruction” by windmills on Earth, he said that what the head of state is saying will not stop the reduction of electricity prices.
– And we had an increase in energy prices between 2017 and 2023, when President Duda's party, PiS, was in power. After that, energy prices and tariffs increased by 350 percent. Just imagine. This policy has led to, among other things, the blocking of onshore wind energy, which is currently the cheapest in the world, Zielinska explained.
