98 deaths and 150 injured – this is the balance of Tuesday’s disaster at Jetset Disco in the capital of Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic. Services are predicting that the number could continue to rescue operations and this number could increase. Some of the murdered people have personalities known from the local world of politics, culture and sports.
The country’s president, Lewis Abinader, went to the scene and assured him that “saving lives” was still a priority. “All services work constantly” – he wrote on his account on social media. Three days of national mourning was ordered, according to BBC Mundo.
