According to Reuters, Donald Trump announced that as US president he would consider imposing tariffs on Denmark. In his statement, he mentioned Greenland, which in his opinion could belong to the United States. Moreover, the future leader has not ruled out the use of force against Copenhagen and Panama. He also spoke about the changes that should occur in NATO and the “artificial” border between the United States and Canada.
During the press conference, Donald Trump was asked if he would avoid the use of military or economic coercion regarding the Panama Canal and Greenland.
– No, we cannot guarantee either of these two (issue – ed.). But we can say that we need them for economic security, the US president-elect said. Reuters reported that “President Trump has indicated that he will impose tariffs on Denmark if it rejects his offer to buy Greenland.”
Regarding “military action,” Trump said he was “not going to promise” that there would be no such action, as reported by AFP. “We might have to do something,” he added.

In his speech, Donald Trump called on NATO members to increase their defense spending to 5% of GDP. “Everyone can afford it, but they should be paying 5% instead of 2%,” he told reporters.
