Bishop Jacek Rzezielski of Elblag has submitted his resignation to Pope Francis in accordance with the provisions of canon law, as the presiding officer, Father Zdzisław Beek, said in a message on the Holy See's website.
“The reason for his resignation is the bishop's age. At the same time, Bishop Elblag requests prayers for the selection of his successor,” the Chancellor of the Royal Family said.
