The politician said that he considered this choice “positive” because “President Nawrocki has many advantages that give him a chance in this race.” He then added: “It's going to be a very difficult race and it's already showing, especially after this carpet bombing and the attack that's going on against him.” When asked by the interviewer, Dvorczyk explained that he called “fakes found on the Internet, various types of defamation” such a “carpet raid”.
He continued: “For example, about the fake photos that appear to be shared by serious journalists, or at least people who work for serious titles. He apologized, but it's clear what kind of message was sent. : Navroki goes crazy in some neo-fascist events.
He also mentioned that “this case was dismissed”. “It was a completely different person in the photo presented by the staff of the major media titles, who is the president of the Institute of National Remembrance, Karol Nawrocki,” Dvorczyk said.
We remind you what photos Michal Dvorczyk was talking about and show that despite the denial of the National Memorial Institute, this fake continues on social networks.
The fake is available from February
Karol Nawrocki was presented at the party congress on November 24, 2024 as a “citizen” candidate supported by PiS. However, photos purporting to show the hajla, the Roman salute now associated with neo-Nazism, have previously circulated online. A photo of three people raising their hands in a Nazi salute, captioned “Karol Nawrocki hajluje,” was shared on the X website on February 15, 2024.
Entry with incorrect photo description dated February 15, 2024.x.com
This photo has been circulating on social networks since November 20 of this year, when the media unofficially reported that he will be a PiS candidate in the elections. In particular, it attracted a lot of attention: an entry from an anonymous Facebook account, published publicly in Facebook groups, in which a photo was described: “As if PIS will put Nawrocki in the election, if you don't know that he Who is it? It was shared by more than 440 people.
The photo can also be found on the accounts of some public figures. On November 22, it was shared by Krzysztof Luft, a member of the TVP program board, who wrote: “Seriously? Someone in the middle? Who would have thought to make him the president of Poland?” Meanwhile, the deputy editor-in-chief of “Gazeta Wyborcza” Bartos T. Velinski said in the “Super Express” program that “there is a photo in which he (Karol Nawroki) poses as a Nazi salute.” “I'm sorry, but that's a disqualification. A man who has a photo like this… his photo is being circulated here, let's say, for his own protection here should be removed from the beginning. IPN disclaims and declares claims
On the same day – November 22, 2024 – the Institute of National Remembrance commented on the photos, refusing to show President Karol Nawrocki. “Because of the suggestions in the media, including on social networks, that the head of the Institute of National Remembrance, Dr. Karol Nawroki, shows men screaming in the photo, the Institute of National Remembrance declares that this is a gross fake,” he wrote. statement by IPN spokesman Rafal Leshkevich, who commented.
None of the three people in the photo is Karol Navroki. One of the men in the photo is Tomasz Greniuch, a former employee of the National Memorial Institute, with whom cooperation was terminated in 2021 after revealing constructive evidence from the past.
The statement emphasized that “any repetition of this lie will face a strong response from the National Memorial Institute, we will file a lawsuit in every case.”
Tomasz Greniuch, falsely identified as Karol Nawrocki, was a former member of the National Radical Camp (ONR). The photo shown is taken from an event organized by this organization in 2007: behind Grenyuch's screams, you can see a banner with the inscription ONR. Since 2018, he has been working at the IPN branch in Opole, and on February 9, 2021, he was appointed acting director of the IPN branch in Wroclaw. He did not even work for a month in this position, because first in Krakow “Gazeta Wyborcza” published photos of Greniuch screaming, and on February 25, 2021, the Institute of National Remembrance terminated his employment contract, justifying it with “loss of trust”. “.
Deletion of Records, Apologies and Further Publications
After the National Institute of Remembrance issued a statement regarding the photo, Krzysztof Luft deleted his post and then issued a “correction and apology.” “The young judge was not a colleague of the current president of the National Memorial Institute, but an employee of the Institute who was dismissed by the previous president,” he wrote. Bartos T. Velinski also wrote on the website
However, despite the denial of the Institute of National Remembrance, a photo with a misleading description is published on social networks. Two days after the statement was released, on November 24, 2024, the photo was shared by others. Senator of the Civil Alliance, Marek Borowski, who wrote: “Mr. President Karol Nawrocki! Is this really you or a fake? Please confirm or correct it” (the entry has already been deleted).
The photo is returned with incorrect descriptions, mostly due to unknown accounts. On Facebook, for example, you can find an anonymous entry from December 2 with a photo and a caption that says Karol Nawrocki is “in the middle” and the note: “Hitler. The President.”
The second photo, again without Navroki
In addition, a second photo of the screamers with the signature of Karol Navroki is also circulating on social networks. They were published, for example, on November 25, after the rejection of the IPN, in an anonymous account on his website with law and justice…”
The second photo is incorrectly posted online with captionx.com
Like the previous photo, this photo also shows Tomasz Greniuch instead of Nawrocki. It was performed in 2005 during the ONR show at Michelin.
