A group of local residents rescued a goat that was left on the side of a mountain on the island of Oahu in Hawaii. Local media reports that the young animal was there for four days.
One of the residents of the island first noticed the white goat on the mountain on Monday. The services tried to save the animal, but to no avail.
After news of a goat in need of help spread, several islanders united on social media and organized their own rescue operation.
Apple helped
When the group of people reached the top of the mountain on Thursday, the goat was there.
As they described in an interview with local media, they were able to attract a fearful goat by placing an apple next to it and using a drone to distract it. As she approached, the man hugged her. It took 45 minutes to bring the animal down from the mountain.
The goat, which the residents named Bala, now lives in an animal shelter.
