Wittenberg noted that the range of films competing for Oscar nominations has tightened. The so-called “short list” of applicants for golden statues has been announced. In the category of the best international film, the film “The Girl with the Needle” directed by Magnus von Horn, director of Sweden and Poland, submitted by Denmark, has a chance to be nominated. The Polish candidate “Under the Volcano” by Damian Kokur was eliminated from the competition in this category.
“Film Frame” also includes a special mention for Tom Cruise. The actor received an order to serve in the US Navy. This is the highest distinction that can be given to a citizen.
The US Navy says that the number of people who want to become pilots has “increased rapidly” after starring in the hit movie “Top Gun”.
The program also touched upon the case of Lily Allen. The British singer has revealed that she is struggling with mental health issues and has almost stopped eating. He claims that he does not feel hungry at all and forgets to eat. She tries to deal with her eating disorder while in treatment. This is the second time that the artist talks about his personal life, because he hopes that the publicity of such problems will help people who are going through them.
